Let's get started transferring your domain name.
The table below illustrates the basic process of a domain name transfer, (in your case a low cost domain name transfer) including all actions you will need to take. Please note that all confirmation emails are sent to the Administrative Contact email address listed for the domain. (Which should be you!) If you are not the Administrative contact you will not be able to transfer the domain name. Also note that if you need to change the Admin contact to your name, please do this 2 weeks in advance of your transfer. An Admin contact change right before a transfer will stop the transfer process for up to two weeks and possibly longer! (This process prevents someone from stealing your domain name).Once again, many do not know how successfully transfer a domain name, that's why we took the time to put this information together. 1. Customer purchases Domain Name Transfer.

2. The Customer must "unlock" the domain and retrieve an Authorization Code from their current Registrar, which is needed to initiate the transfer with the Gaining Registrar. See How to obtain an Authorization Code below. Note: If you don't know how to unlock a domain name, always call Tech Support where your domain name was purchased.

3. Gaining Registrar sends an email to the Customer which contains an ID number, Key Code and a link to confirm the transfer. |

4. Customer confirms the transfer with the ID and Key from the email. If the domain being transferred requires an Authorization Code, it will have to be entered on the Losing Registrar side. Click here for email example  |

5. Gaining Registrar sends notification to Losing Registrar to transfer the domain.

| 6. Losing Registrar sends confirmation for the release of the domain.
|
|
| 7. Customer then confirms release with Losing Registrar. |
|
8. Losing Registrar Releases domain to Gaining Registrar. |
|
| 9. A transfer success email is sent to notify the customer the domain is now located in their account.

To Obtain an Authorization Code via Email for an Active Domain Name 1. Log in to your Account Manager. 2. In the My Products section, click Domain Manager. 3. Click the domain name. 4. In the Domain Information section, click Send by Email on the Authorization Code line, and then click OK twice. |
